Davies Dukes, featuring guitar and vocals, has been performing in Wine Country for 20+ years.The duo features Boomer tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s such as Van Morrison, Beatles, Eagles, Michael Franks and others.

Django Reinhardt was Eddie's first inspiration, followed by Charlie Christian--"He was the big one for electric guitar in a jazz band"--Barney Kessel, Jimmy Raney, and Tal Farlow, who, like Eddie, were known for their bright, swinging melodicism. He was a professional at the age of 15, and in the heyday of the San Francisco bebop scene, he played and recorded with such Fantasy stars as Vince Guaraldi, Red Norvo, and Cal Tjader, as well as with Charlie Parker, Stan Getz, George Shearing, Earl "Fatha" Hines, Benny Goodman, Barbra Streisand, and Pearl Bailey. Tonight, Eddie plays some Brazilian favorites.

Enjoy face painting and henna tattoos for the kids, costume contest, and free Mardi Gras beads and masks while supplies last. Latin music will fill the market hall, featuring the Brazilian, gypsy swing and Afro-Cuban sounds of the Carter-Bodlovich Trio. Oxbow Public Market merchants will be offering Carnaval! theme tastes and demonstrations, with special menus and store offerings throughout the market. This free event is sure to be fun for the entire family. Some of the special offerings from Oxbow Merchants include Brazilian spice-rubbed prawn skewers provided by Kanaloa Seafood, grilled corn on the cob and a “guarapita” special drink at Pica Pica Bar, and mini chocolate fondue with fruit at Anette’s Chocolates.

If you dream of a secret underground lair strung with lengths of drying salami join The Fatted Calf for Salumi! Learn the basics of curing and make cacciatorini, salame cotto and guanciale.

All classes are from 11 am until 3pm. The cost is $135 per person and includes a snack, lunch and a bag of meaty goodies you helped to prepare.
