Friday Night Music
DateTimeEvent
Friday, September 36-9 pmSalsa Dance Party
Oxbow Public Market and Pica Pica invite you to a salsa dance party the first Friday of each month: salsa dancing, lessons and music by Guapachoso. Guapachoso means danceable and fun, and Guapachoso plays favorite salsa classics as heard in albums of Celia Cruz, Ray Barreto, Buena Vista Social Club, and Los Van Van. From classic Latin lounge style music to exhilarating hip danceable salsa, get ready to dance. Free lessons at 6:30 pm, dancing until 9 pm.
Friday, September 106:30-9 pmLine Dancing at Oxbow
The American Line Dancers of Napa Valley Adult Education are retunring to Oxbow for a two-hour event-mixer adjacent to Pica Pica. Last month's event was non-stop pure energy and excitement as the attendees danced a wide mix of country, cha cha, salsa, rumba, 2-steps, and waltz, to name a few. Line dancing is not just country or western anymore. It is now modern, urban sophistication, swing syncopations, flowing waltz and nightclub rhythms, with international and Latin flavoring; hence, the ‘American’ description. It is now seen not just a form of dance but also as a low-impact exercise and as a good social sense. Whatever your purpose is, give it a test run and be surprised to the music variety you will be dancing to as you learn the various line dances! Fee is $10 per person and includes dance lessons and a drawing of some mixer-CDs.
